Effective May 29, 2026, Lazy Hound Industries, doing business as The Awards & Frame Shop, officially closed.

On June 1, 2026, Scott and Victoria “Vickie” Oldmixon reopened the original business as The Award Shop, Inc. Scott originally founded The Award Shop in 1995. The business was sold in 2015 to Josh and Jamie Smith, who later sold it to Darryl and Patricia Cheek. Following Patricia’s passing in July 2025, Darryl ultimately made the decision to sell or close the business.

In spring 2026, Scott and Vickie reached an agreement to purchase the remaining equipment and reopen The Award Shop, Inc. We are proud to continue serving the community with the products and services this location has been known for over the years—including awards, engraving, and custom picture framing—while making significant improvements to the appearance, operations, and overall customer experience of the business.

We expect renovations and planned changes to be completed by fall 2026, at which time we will be fully operational with the complete range of products and services we intend to offer.

If you have an outstanding order with the former company, please contact us. While we cannot guarantee that every previous order can be completed, we will do our best to review the information available and assist you however we can.
