Embossing Vs. Debossing – What’s the difference??
Embossing and Debossing are similar processes; an “image” or “logo” is imprinted or heat stamped into an “object” using a dye, heat, time and pressure. The difference between an embossed image and a debossed image is the direction of the image. An Embossed image has a 3-D appearance. The image appears to be coming up out of the object, the image/logo is raised up. A debossed, image/logo is pressed DOWN into the fabric give it a recessed appearance (an easy way to remember is “D” for DOWN=Deboss)
Debossing: This is the term when the logo is pressed into the fabric. The black artwork elements show what will be pressed into the fabric. This method is often not suitable for use with puff.
